started in April of 1982
with a philosophy of giving specialized individual
service. Founder W. Baine Martin, Jr. brought with him over twenty
years of sales and management experience from the
textile industry and a high degree of
professionalism. Baine Jr.'s business background along with
his loving wife Carol have been the guiding force in the
growth and
success of Martin Real Estate the past 30 years.
Their belief was the biggest is not always the best, but
that a genuine interest in people and a commitment to
serving honestly and openly IS the best. Their goal
was
accomplished with a small staff and hands-on
supervision. The plans of keeping salespersons at a
maximum of five and the involvement of the owners in all
aspects of the business has continued.
Baine and Carol have retired and Martin Real Estate
is now in the hands of son W. Baine (Bud) Martin, III and long-time
associate
Dan Norman. Baine and Carol still live in Boone as do daughters
Laura, Kate and Barbara.
